Front and centre on the world stage of sports

This year, Montréal has been lit up with the effervescent rhythm of sporting competitions and cultural festivals from around the world. These include this past weekend’s Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix 2026, the upcoming Global Tournament of International All Star dance competition at the Verdun Auditorium (July 15 to 20), the National Bank Open 2026 at Parc Jarry (August 1 to 13) and the impatiently awaited UCI Road World Championships Montréal 2026 (September 20 to 27), uniting the entire cycling world.

And that’s just to mention a few — 2026 has certainly been thrilling so far. It all started with the World Aquatics Diving Cup, from February 26 to March 1, and Red Bull Heavy Metal Montréal on February 28, both at the Montréal Olympic Park. Then in early March came the International Gymnix 2026 at the Claude Robillard Sports Complex, followed by the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships at the historic Maurice Richard Arena. Truly, there's a venue and an audience for any sports in any season in Montréal.
