Host of the 1976 Summer Olympic Games, IJF events and Judo Canada’s national championships, Montréal is a leading international judo destination. Montréal is recognized worldwide for its event-hosting experience, world-class venues, joie de vivre and hospitality, best-in-class organizers and as a training hub for world-class champions. It is here that Olympic champions such as Nicolas Gill and Antoine Valois-Fortier trained to reach the podium at IJF competitions and the Olympic Games.

Claude-Robillard Sports Complex
Legacy of the 1976 Olympics, this massive world-class sports complex is Montréal’s most popular sports venue, and offers cutting-edge judo equipment and facilities for large-scale international events.

Aréna Maurice-Richard
Named after legendary Canadiens hockey player Maurice “Rocket” Richard, this world class arena has a seating capacity of up to 6,000 people. It has hosted major judo competitions such as the IJF Judo Grand Prix.

Centre Pierre-Charbonneau
Another Olympic venue, the Centre Pierre-Charbonneau hosts multisport events in its main 2,000-seat venue.

Auditorium de Verdun
Montréal’s third largest arena, it boasts a seating capacity of 4,000 and an NHL ice surface for major judo competitions and has recently been modernized.

Stade IGA
Official venue of the ATP/WTA tennis tournament, its 75,000 sq. ft. indoor tennis facilities can seat up to 7,000 people. It is an ideal venue for judo competitions.

La Tohu
Tohu’s 360-degree circular hall, unique in North America, can accommodate shows and sporting events and original creations such as judo competitions. This impressive space is 22.45 meters high and 40 meters in diameter and can seat 1,200 people.
