See Canada’s women’s basketball élite from March 18 to 21, 2026

Montréal is preparing for an action-packed weekend as the host city of the high-level CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship from March 18 to 21, 2026. Eight women’s collegiate basketball teams, including the Dawson Blues, will compete for the championship trophy at Dawson College’s Tony Proudfoot Gymnasium, in the heart of Montréal.

A competitive venue that’s all set to host

Located in downtown Montréal, the Tony Proudfoot Gymnasium features three full-size gymnasiums, seating for approximately 1,000 spectators, dedicated team areas, locker rooms, athletic therapy services and ample space to support a national championship environment. 

Founded in 1969, Dawson College is one of Québec’s leading English-language CEGEPs and a proud member of the CCAA since 1974, with a strong tradition of excellence in women’s basketball and a proven history of hosting high-level collegiate events.

The weekend at a glance

The championship brings together the top women’s collegiate teams from across Canada’s CCAA member institutions who have qualified through their respective regional conferences to compete for the national title. 

In terms of events that are open to the public, the tournament includes quarterfinals, starting at 1 p.m. on March 18 and running through into the first half day on March 19; semifinals, starting at 6 p.m. on March 19 and continuing into March 20; and finals spread across the four days, with awards and recognition ceremonies for champions and all-stars.
