Montréal becomes Red Bull Heavy Metal’s first international city

Montréal is officially the Street Snowboarding Capital this winter.
On February 28, 2026, Red Bull Heavy Metal will be taking over the historic Montréal Olympic Park, proving once again why the city is a top-tier destination for international sporting events. The Canadian sports festival city is the exciting event’s first host destination on non-American soil.

What makes Montréal the perfect host?
The venues: turning Olympic landmarks into custom urban rail jams
The culture: a city that always shows up to support raw, creative talent
The atmosphere: loud, inclusive and world-class
What is Red Bull Heavy Metal Montréal?
It’s an international event set in Montréal that’s got the world’s best snowboarders together for a showcase of progression, style and pure street creativity.
It’s the first international event in the Red Bill Heavy Metal series, established in 2022 to showcase street snowboarding in a contest format.
From 1 p.m. through to the 6 p.m. award ceremony (not to mention the 10 p.m. afterparty at the legendary Foufounes Électriques bar downtown), the fun will never stop — and it’s free to watch.
Set in the Montréal Olympic Park, the event will transform one of Canada’s most famous attractions into the ultimate urban riding battleground.
The existing concrete structures of the visually stunning location allowed the design team to create an outstanding course while preserving the original character of the site.
