Montréal to welcome the world’s top cheer and dance athletes

Cheers to the massive Global Tournament of International All Star
Montréal is adding another major international sporting event to its impressive roster this summer, as it prepares to host the Global Tournament of International All Star for cheer and dance at Auditorium de Verdun from July 15 to 20. The competition, which sees 1,500 athletes pit their talents against each other, has invited teams from more than 10 countries and 85 qualifying events, encompassing all levels and genres within the international cheer and dance community.

The greats cheer and dance unite
More than just another championship, the Association of International All Star’s flagship event is considered the world’s only rotating international invitational dedicated exclusively to elite All Star cheer and dance. Held every 18 months in a different continent, the prestigious competition brings together the best athletes from across the globe in what organizers describe as the “Global Summit” of the sport.
The numbers alone highlight the tournament’s international reach. Nearly 30 independent event producers from around the world have partnered with the Association of International All Star to qualify teams through more than 85 sanctioned events across over 15 countries. The result is an elite field featuring athletes representing every level and genre of competitive All Star cheer and dance.
Montréal is ready to cheer too
For Montréal, hosting an event of this calibre reinforces the city’s growing reputation as one of North America’s premier destinations for international sporting events. In recent years, Montréal has welcomed everything from world championships in cycling and diving to international tennis, Formula 1 and countless global conventions, combining first class venues with a vibrant cultural scene that keeps visitors exploring long after competition ends.
The tournament is also expected to generate significant tourism activity as athletes, coaches, families and supporters from around the world descend on the city for nearly a week of competition. Beyond the routines themselves, visitors will experience Montréal’s renowned restaurants, festivals, neighbourhoods and hospitality, making the event as much a cultural showcase as a sporting one.
The perfect host city for all sports
As a widely recognized sports city, topping the Canadian Sport Hosting Index more than once and named Canada’s Sports City for three consecutive years, Montréal is home to 12 national training centres and 60 provincial sports associations and federations.
